BIOGRAPHY
Called to the Bar in 1984, Jacques Demers joined the firm in 2002 after having practised with other firms in the Quebec area.
AREAS OF PRACTICE
Me Demers practices business and commercial law, mainly in banking, bankruptcy, insolvency and securities law. In securities law, he acts for financial institutions that he has defended in, arguably, the most important stock broker professional liability lawsuits in eastern Quebec.
His extensive experience in banking and insolvency makes him a leading practitioner in the area of debt recovery and bankruptcy.
Bilingual, Me Demers argues in court and represents his clients both in French and English.
ACTIVITIES
Jacques Demers has served the Bar as lecturer at the École de formation professionnelle du Barreau du Québec (Bar School), from 2002 to 2003 teaching bankruptcy and insolvency law.
He has also been invited as guess speaker by the business community and by the Canadian Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals
